Good things said about Unpolluted Pits:

"Put that deodorant stuff on my face before my makeup today! I had a photoshoot outside in the sun, after 2 hours of sweating, my makeup hasn't even moved with the sun and sweat! Haha! Love it!" - Hannah D, professional make up artist & owner of HD Pro Artistry

I just wanted to write a review on your product. Changing my deodorant has been on my list for a number of years due to all the chemicals in the store brand ones. We eat mostly organic, I try and clean without chemicals and here I am covering my body every morning in toxins to avoid being stinky. I have tried numerous "natural" brands that were much healthier for my body but just did not do their job. I run and do Crossfit and I live in California. These three things combined do not make me someone you want to be around without deodorant. I saw an ad for your product and figured I'd reluctantly try it, worst case scenario I throw away $20.. I AM HOOKED. I've been using it for over a month, numerous Crossfit classes and a half marathon and I don't stink. I'm also surprised by how little I used. The $20 ish price tag seemed a little pricey per month but I was willing to at least try it. Well, one month in and I've hardly used any. In the long term it's going to work out much cheeper than store bought brands AND it isn't full of carcinogenic chemicals. For those of you on the fence, try it, you'll LOVE it and be writing reviews just like me!" Pauline M., San Diego, CA

"My husband and I picked up our son from preschool the other week. I had just showered, and his teacher asked what I used because I smelled so good. It took me a second and then I laughed - I had only rinsed off, so she smelled my hubby using Unpolluted Pits (the no coco version). It's not strong, just yummy." - Stacey S

When making the switch to a natural deodorant your body may take a few days to a few weeks to adjust and possibly even eliminate chemicals already in the pores, especially if you are not aware of any gut to skin connections. Should you be sensitive in the under arm area after shaving, shave at night before bed and apply in the morning to give your skin a breather. Some people can be sensitive to baking soda so I have formulated it to be used in a low ratio and added more soothing yet still aggressive elements to the mix! If after using Unpolluted Pits you are unhappy, we can reduce the amount of baking soda in your deodorant or find some thing and some time to help you out!

Apply sparingly. You only need a pea size amount or smaller for each unpolluted pit!

Your body is supposed to sweat. You have glands, lymph nodes, in your armpit that release sweat and toxins through our largest organ, the skin. When you release these toxins you are allowing your body to naturally cleanse and detox itself. If you use antiperspirants, you turn off your bodies naturally functioning abilities to keep you well. These toxins get trapped and recirculate to try and find a way out.

Our calcium bentonite clay deodorant will allow you to sweat but also maintain social status by absorbing said wetness and neutralizing your odor by killing off the odor causing bacteria. Every thing in our products have a reason and ratio purpose for you and your wellness journey!

We avoid these things for all sorts of reasons:

Aluminum based compounds are the active ingredients in common antiperspirants. They block the sweat glads to keep them from reaching the skin's surface. Research suggests that compounds are absorbed by the skin and cause changes in the estrogen receptors of breast cells. Aluminum has feverishly been linked to breast cancer, prostate cancer, and an increased risk of early on set Alzheimer's disease.

Parabens (in any form: methylparaben, proppylparaben, ethylparaben, or butylparaben) are a class of artificial preservatives widely used in mainstream cosmetics and personal care products. Our skin absorbs 90% of everything we apply topically. Parabens and Phthalates are proven to be present in the bloodstream 20 mins after application. They are being investigated but known for their role in hormonal imbalance which can lead to things like early puberty, an increased risk in hormonal cancers, and have been linked to birth defects and cause organ toxicity.

Propylene Glycol
Propylene Glycol - a petroleum based humectant originally developed as an anti-freeze but now is in our deodorants and antiperspirants. It is a neurotoxin known to cause contact dermatitis and kidney, central nervous system, heart, and liver damage. In propylene glycol's Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), published by the National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety, workers are urged to avoid skin contact with the toxic chemical as it may cause eye and skin irritation, gastrointestinal irritation and discomfort, nausea, headache, vomiting, and central nervous depression.

Phthalates are linked to birth defects and disrupting hormone receptors increasing the likelihood of cell mutation, endocrine disruptor, and all around bad chemicals. Period.

TEA and DEA are used to adjust pH, and used with fatty acids to convert acid to salt (stearate), which becomes the base for a cleaner. They BOTH could be toxic if absorbed into the body over a love period. DEA is known to cause liver and kidney damage and TEA can trigger non specific allergic reactions. These chemicals are highly restricted in Europe due to known carcinogenic effects.

Triclosan is an artificial anti-microbal chemical used to kill bacteria on the skin and other surfaces. Triclosan is a skin irritant and may case contact dermatitis. Recent studies suggest this chemical may disrupt thyroid function and other critical hormone systems. The American Medical Association recommends that triclosan and other "antibacterial" products not be used in the home. Common Household Toxins
